Janice Minter has been in the real estate business for over 30 years. She has been a sales agent, an investor, a home re-modeler, and Broker/Owner of her own company, Coastal Area Real Estate, sponsoring many new agents over the years.

Janice began her real estate career in 1980 in Hawaii, then moved to Austin and South Padre Island,Texas. She has lived and worked in the North Padre Island and Corpus Christi area now for over 10 years.

Her knowledge and experience is extensive and includes marketing, sales, financing, property management, remodeling, new construction, 1031 exchanges, foreclosures, and vacation or 2nd homes.

Janice Minter has always loved the coast and beach. Raised in south Louisiana and Texas as a child and living in Texas most of her life, she developed a love for travel as a teenager, when her father's job in the oil business took them to Australia. She attended high school in Victoria, Australia, for four years before going off to college back in the States. The oil business took them to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia while in college and Janice travelled back and forth for several years stopping over and travelling throughout the Orient, Asia and the South Pacific.

Janice Minter graduated from Texas A&M - Galveston with a degree in Marine Science in 1978. She moved to the North Shore of Oahu to pursue her love of surfing and worked at an experimental aquaculture farm. Her interest in buying real estate there led her to obtain her real estate license and she worked for approximately 2 years as a Realtor on Oahu before returning to Texas to attend graduate school. Janice has worked through three 'boom and bust' real estate markets and was fortunate to also be able to work in the fields of marine education and environmental grants. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1999 and formed Coastal Area Real Estate while attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi, working on her Master's Degree. She enjoys swimming, surfing, sailing, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, horseback riding, birding, traveling, gardening, photography, kayaking and beachcombing.
